What is the mission of the YMCA of Superior California?

Who can participate at the YMCA?
  • All people are welcome to participate in YMCA of Superior California programs and use our facilities regardless of race, ability, religion, gender, national origin, sexual orientation, gender identity, or income. Everyone belongs at the Y.
How can I join the Y? How much does a membership cost?
  • Visit your local YMCA Branch to join. You will need to complete a membership application and have payment for your joining fee and initial dues. To establish a monthly draft, you will also need a voided check or credit card.

Does the Y offer financial assistance?
  • Here at the YMCA of Superior California we are open to all people. Regardless of your financial situation, we will work with you to ensure you receive all the needed benefits of our membership and programs. To apply for Y-assist, click here. Please contact your local YMCA branch if you have questions about the approval process.
Can I put my membership on hold?
  • Sacramento Central YMCA: You are able to put your membership on hold for a minimum of one month to a maximum of six months. In order to place your membership on hold you would need to come in person and fill out a hold request or email membership@ymcasuperiorcal.org. If you decide request your hold via e-mail, you will receive an email reply within 2-3 business days. If your membership is on a bank draft/automatic withdrawal you must request your membership hold within 5 business days of your draft.
Is child watch available?
  • The Child Watch is a drop-in service that provides an interactive and healthy place for your child to play under the caring, active supervision of trained staff so you can enjoy your YMCA visit and work out with a peaceful mind. Child Watch is currently available at our Sacramento Central YMCA location. Child Watch hours are, Monday - Thursday 5:00 - 7:30 PM.
Can I bring guests?
  • Yes! We encourage our members to introduce their friends, family and colleagues to the YMCA.
  • Guest policy differs form branch to branch, below are our policies for each branch locations:
    • Sacramento Central YMCA: Active members are allowed to bring one guest in at a time. The guest needs to provide the front desk a photo ID (ID will be held at the front desk) and needs to sign in to the guest book. Each guest is allowed to visit the facility with a member a total of 3 times. After 3 visits they would need to purchase a day pass or a membership.
I am a Y member visiting from out of town. Am I able to use your facilities?
  • The YMCA of Superior California participates in the AWAY (Always Welcome At the Y) program which allows members of other YMCAs to attend our YMCAs. In return, YMCA of Superior California members can attend YMCAs located all over the US and abroad who also participate in the AWAY program. Please call a location prior to visiting for specific policies.
  • AWAY policy differs form branch to branch, below are our policies for each branch locations:
    • Sacramento Central YMCA: Away members must provide identification from their home YMCA in order to verify that their membership is active. Our policy is that every 4th visit requires a $5 fee.
May I volunteer my time to help the YMCA serve the community?
  • The YMCA of Superior California welcomes volunteers in all areas of our association. Duties range in responsibility from reading to our preschool students to coaching youth sports to greeting members at our front desk. How do I cancel my membership?
  • Sacramento Central YMCA: If you are on a bank draft/automatic withdrawal you must cancel your membership within five business days of your draft. You must fill out our cancellation paperwork or to send an email to membership@ymcasuperiorcal.org. For an annual membership (paid 3 months at a time), nothing needs to be done to cancel.
  • Yolo County YMCA: Cancellations must be done in writing. If you are on bank draft/automatic withdrawal and your draft falls on the 5th of the month, you must cancel by the 15th. If your draft falls on the 20th of the month you must cancel by the 30th.
  • Oroville YMCA: A 30 written notice is required to cancel a membership to allow ample time for processing and termination of the membership.
