Healthy Living Week is October 21-27: Free Fitness Courses & Workshops for All at the Sacramento Central YMCA

The Sacramento Central YMCA is celebrating Healthy Living Week by offering a variety of activities, fitness classes and workshops to the community free of charge from October 21 through 27. At the Y, strengthening community is our cause. That’s why we are here with you every day, making sure that you, your family, and the community have the resources and support necessary to lead healthy lives. Please join us for a free week of healthy living activities for all.

During Healthy Living Week, community members can attend fitness classes such as belly dance, circuit, power vinyasa, strength & conditioning, strength train together, and yoga.  Programing for children will include a Youth Sport Skills Competition and Aquatics Open Swim on Saturday, October 21.  All abled and disabled bodies are welcome to attend the Wheelchair Basketball Clinic with the Sacramento Royals on Sunday, October 22.

For the aging well community there will be an assortment of low-to-moderate intensity fitness classes such as Feldenkrais, hula for health, and yoga.  In addition to fitness courses there will be a class on essential oils and three workshops on conscious aging.  Community members are also encouraged to attend the flu shot clinic from 9:00am to 12:00pm on Wednesday, October 25.

Healthy Living Week will conclude on Friday, October 27 with the Harvest Festival Family Night on Friday, October 27.

FOR KIDS: Sports and Swimming
Saturday October 21st
· 10:00am-12pm: Youth Sports Skills Challenge:
($1-$5 donation or canned food)
· 2:00pm-5:00pm: Aquatics Open Swim

Sunday October 22nd
· 12:00-3:00pm: All abled and disabled bodies welcome.
