We have an extraordinary opportunity to ensure that invaluable YMCA programs like child care, swim lessons, chronic disease management and more, are accessible to those who need them most.
The concept is simple: where society falls short, the Y – and supporters like you – step in. Together, we make a difference in the lives of the more than 28,000 people our Y serves annually.
Many, if not all, of us have witnessed first-hand the extraordinary impact the Y is making – from seniors finding friendship and purpose in their Y community, to the achievements children make every single day in YMCA youth sports, child care and camps. We all have our Y story. Through the Annual Campaign charitable funds are raised to ensure these invaluable programs are accessible to all.
Every dollar donated stays local, and is used to create a meaningful, enduring impact right in our own community.
Last year alone, the YMCA of Superior California provided more than $303,000 in scholarships to kids, seniors, teens and adults who wouldn't otherwise be able to participate in our character-building, health-inspiring, and - sometimes even - life-saving programs.
Because at the Y, we believe that opportunity shouldn't be a privilege.
Together, we ensure it's a right.
CARES Act Tax Breaks For 2020
There is a new financial incentive for Americans to give generously to qualifying charities, including YMCA of Superior California and many of our fellow non-profits. The new universal tax break for charitable donations was included in the final $2 trillion COVID-19 stimulus package signed into law and will go into effect starting with the 2020 tax year.
The measure grants taxpayers an above-the-line deduction for up to $300 in charitable donations given in 2020. For example, if you take the standard deduction and give $300 to charity, you will get a $300 tax break in addition to the standard deduction.
Now is the perfect time to take advantage of this “above-the-line” opportunity and give to qualifying charities providing emergency response in our community.
