Sacramento YMCA Child Development Center

At the Y, we are committed to providing an enriching experience that facilitates a child’s cognitive, social, physical and emotional growth. In collaboration with schools, The YMCA provides parents with an alternative to learning from home with our Full Day Program with Distance Learning Support. Children are provided a quiet space to log on to their classrooms and get assistance as needed by trained and knowledgeable staff. YMCA After School Enrichment ensures that each child’s time is spent creatively and constructively, helping children grow physically, mentality, and spiritually while emphasizing personal development and YMCA core values of caring, honesty, respect & responsibility.

While our programs are based on the unique needs and interests of the communities in which they reside, each of our Y’s has one thing in common: our people. The volunteers, staff, members and donors of the Y are all united by a deep commitment to strengthening community and our mission ensuring that everyone, regardless of age, income, or background, has the opportunity to reach their fullest potential.

Y-Assist provides funding for families that otherwise cannot afford care. Funds have been donated to the Y through our Annual Support Campaign to help those in need. Participants must apply and can receive up to 50% off of fees. We also offer a 10% sibling discount.

All YMCA locations practice safe protocols with:

  • Temperature checks before entry for all students and staff
  • Hand washing upon entry
  • Mask required for all staff and students in 3rd grade and above
  • Outdoor check in and check out stations
  • Social Distance Markers
  • Frequent handwashing and sanitation of high use surface areas
  • Hand Sanitizer Stations

Staff Training: Our staff are all trained in CPR, First Aid, Child Abuse Prevention, Positive Behavior Management, health and safety protocol according to the State of California, the County of Sacramento, and the Center for Disease Control to prevent the spread of the Coronavirus.

The sites below are open during the school closures during the Coronavirus emergency. Please contact them for space availability. As part of these emergency centers, we have reached out to local hospitals and cities so that medical staff and first responders have somewhere to turn to for child care during this crisis. We are prioritizing those essential employees in our community for care so they don’t have to worry that their children are in a safe place, as they care for a growing number of our loved ones during this difficult time. Our current families in need of care are the next priority for care.

Y-Assist is available for families in need. There is a 10% sibling discount.
