What is the mission of the YMCA of Superior California?
  • Inspire all to a healthy life - in spirit, mind and body.
Who can participate at the YMCA?
  • All people are welcome to participate in YMCA of Superior California programs and use our facilities regardless of race, ability, religion, gender, national origin, sexual orientation, gender identity, or income. Everyone belongs at the Y.
How can I join the Y? How much does a membership cost?
  • Click here for Membership Rates for the Sacramento Central branch.  For Oroville or Yolo County YMCA please visit your local YMCA Branch to join and find out membership rate information. You will need to complete a membership application and have payment for your joining fee and initial dues. To establish a monthly draft, you will also need a voided check or credit card.

Does the Y offer financial assistance?
  • Here at the YMCA of Superior California we are open to all people. Regardless of your financial situation, we will work with you to ensure you receive all the needed benefits of our membership and programs. To apply for Y-assist, click here. Please contact your local YMCA branch if you have questions about the approval process.
How old can my dependents be in order to be part of my Family Membership?
  • For the Sacramento Central branch, dependents must be under the age of 18 to be part of a Family Membership.

Can I put my membership on hold?
  • Sacramento Central YMCA: A membership can be placed on hold for a short-term illness or vacation. Minimum 1 month, Maximum 6 months. Free for the first 3 months and $10/month for each additional month up to 6 months. No hold charge will be accessed if doctor’s note is provided. Written notice is required 10 days prior to the draft date. YMCA does not provide accident or medical insurance.
Is Child Watch available?
  • The Child Watch is a drop-in service that provides an interactive and healthy place for your child to play under the caring, active supervision of trained staff so you can enjoy your YMCA visit and work out with a peaceful mind. Child Watch is currently available at our Sacramento Central YMCA location.
Can I bring guests?
  • Yes! We encourage our members to introduce their friends, family and colleagues to the YMCA.
  • Guest policy differs from branch to branch, below are our policies for each branch locations:
      • Sacramento Central YMCA: Active members are allowed to bring five guests per year. Each guest needs to provide the Member Service Desk a photo ID and needs to sign in to the Guest Book. After five visits, the guest would need to purchase a Day Pass or a membership.
I am a Y member visiting from out of town. Am I able to use your facilities?
  • The YMCA of Superior California participates in Nationwide Membership. If your YMCA is participating in Nationwide, you are able to use the facility at no cost.
May I volunteer my time to help the YMCA serve the community?
  • The YMCA of Superior California welcomes volunteers in all areas of our association. Duties range in responsibility from reading to our preschool students to coaching youth sports to greeting members at our front desk. How do I cancel my membership?
  • Sacramento Central YMCA: If you are on a bank draft/automatic withdrawal you must cancel your membership within five business days of your draft. You must fill out our cancellation paperwork or to send an email to membership@ymcasuperiorcal.org. For an annual membership (paid 6 or 12 months at a time), nothing needs to be done to cancel.
  • Yolo County YMCA: Cancellations must be done in writing. If you are on bank draft/automatic withdrawal and your draft falls on the 5th of the month, you must cancel by the 15th. If your draft falls on the 20th of the month you must cancel by the 30th.
  • Oroville YMCA: A 30 written notice is required to cancel a membership to allow ample time for processing and termination of the membership.
