Upcoming EventsWe believe that kids learn best through play!This special Family Swim Sunday takes place on Sunday, August 18th from 2:00 – 5:45pm. Practice the skills your child is learning in their swim lessons or just have fun in the pool as a family. Family Swim Sundays are an opportunity for all in the community to drop in and swim for a few hours with their families - for just $5 per family!(Family = 2 adults and dependent children). YMCA Members are FREE!

Too busy to commit to a whole month of swim lessons? Prefer morning swim instruction? The Y now offers two-week morning swim lessons during August. Each session will meet Monday-Thursday for two weeks. Knowing how to swim is a life-saving skill that opens up a vast array of opportunities to stay fit, develop self-confidence, build relationships and safely enjoy aquatic activities.   Session 2: August 5th-15th; Monday through Thursday Cost: 8 x 30 minute lessons;  $65 Members, $92 Non-Members

Challenge yourself, build your endurance and stamina, meet others who share your goal and just have fun! Whatever your goal, Team Y Run Club is here to support you! Team Y Run Club (Summer 2019): Beginner/Intermediate 5K/10K TrainingDay/Time: Tuesdays & Thursdays at 6:00am / Saturdays at 8:00am (Multiple distance options starting at the Y)Duration: 12 weeks Location: Sacramento Central YMCA  Questions? Please contact Elena Edwards, Health & Wellness Director, at eedwards@ymcasuperiorcal.org  Local Race: Urban Cow 1/2 Marathon on Sunday, October 6th at William Land Park. Optional two-person YMCA relay teams will be forming for this event.    Program Details:  · July 16th – October 3rd - Still time to join! · 12 weeks of training led by our running experts · 3 group workouts per week  · Experienced coaches and mentors to support you along the way · Daily training schedules available (upon request) · Education on proper form, pacing, fueling, stretching, and more! Suggested Activity Level Prior to Start of Training No previous exercise experience is required. We recommend that you check  with your doctor before starting any fitness program. Non-members will be  required to sign a participation waiver prior to the start of this program session.
