OUR FUTURELEADERS Youth & Government Model Legislature & Court: (Grades 9-12) Registering Now! In school your teen will learn about the basics of government, but do they know how their state really works? How to turn an idea into a law? Are they ready to lead? Through the YMCA Youth & Government Model Legislature & Court program, they will learn how government really works –not just what government does. They will discuss, analyze, and think about the world in new ways, make 3,400 new friends, and learn how to use their voice to impact their communities now and throughout their lives. Meets Wednesdays at 6:30pmTahoe Park Community Center: 5959 8th Ave, Sacramento 95820 Meetings run from September 4th through February 5th. Participants travel to two training conferences (November 9-11 and January 18-20) prior to attending the full Model Legislature & Court here in Sacramento February 13-17. More Information

SAVEA LIFE Lifeguard Certifications Register Being a top-quality lifeguard come from rigorous training, commitment, vigilance, and quality supervision. A lifeguard who is experienced, prepared and confident is an asset to the community. That‘s why the Sacramento Central YMCA offers American Red Cross Lifeguard Certification Courses. The Lifeguard Program is a scenario-based training course, where participants learn what it takes to be a professional lifeguard. This course provides all the certifications required by the State of California to lifeguard at any pool, beach, or water park. Upcoming Class: September 6th-9th Classes start at 10:00am Fees: Y-Members: $200 Non-Member: $225

Competitive Youth BasketballCompetitive Youth Basketball League steps up the competition, yet still provides a positive experience for all. This game-only league is meant for intermediate or advanced players. Youth learn new skills, make new friends, develop essential character traits, and set individual and team goals.
