YMCA Update Regarding State of California Reopening Plan
Dear YMCA Members
Like many of you, we were watching the Governor’s press conference on Friday afternoon so we could find out a timeline for us to re-open our indoor gym facility programming. As of right now, the counties in which we operate gym facilities (Butte, Sacramento, and Yolo) are all in the most restrictive threshold called "Widespread" (Purple). Under a "Widespread" county designation we can only continue to offer outdoor and virtual programming for fitness. The State of California will re-evaluate the progress of each county on Tuesday, September 8, and at that time we will find out if we can begin offering indoor fitness at 10% capacity if a county has moved into the "Substantial" threshold (Red).
During these difficult times we ask you to please #StayWithUs and explore the fitness options that we can provide you now. Your commitment to the Y helps our cause to take on this crisis including:
- providing care and homework support for the children of essential works during school closures
- feeding kids who depended on free and reduced school lunches
- community for isolated seniors through virtual programs and check-in calls
- meals served in homeless encampments so that no-one is forgotten during this pandemic
So many of us have been living a less active lifestyle since the start of shelter in place, and we encourage you to take advantage of these valuable fitness opportunities and be in good health. If you have any questions regarding your Membership, please e-mail us at firstname.lastname@example.org and we will get back to you right away.
Thank you for supporting the Y,
President & CEO
