Oroville Day Camp Facts


When does Summer Camp run?

  • Summer camp runs for 9 weeks from June 10 - August 13
  • Camp hours are 6:30 AM - 6:00 PM, Monday - Friday

What are the age groups?

  • Ducklings: Entering Pre-Kindergarten and Kindergarten
  • Cubs: Entering 1st Grade
  • Otters: Entering 2nd Grade
  • Penguins: Entering 3rd Grade
  • Pandas: Entering 4th Grade
  • Foxes: Entering 5th & 6th Grade
  • Lions: Entering 7th & 8th Grade

What are the fees for Summer Camp?

  • Camp is $175 per child/per week
  • We offer reduced rates for members of $145 per week or $1305 for the entire summer
  • We have Y-Assist to reduce the fees for low income families. 
  • We accept Valley Oaks and other 3rd party payments
  • Deposits are $25 per child/per week. Remaining balance is due on the Friday before camp.
  • Multiple child discounts for 2nd, 3rd, and 4th child
  • Payment plans available March-June
  • Payment Plans, Financial Assistance, and Field Trip sign-ups are available on a fist come, first serve basis.

How can I register my child for Summer Camp?

  • Registration opens March 1, 2019. Don't wait!
  • Pay either a deposit or for the days you wish your child to attend.
  • Have a 3rd party agreement filled out if on 3rd party pay
  • A child(s) is considered registered for camp, if:
    • An entire registration packet is completed and submitted.
    • Deposits are paid towards the weeks your child(s) will attend.
    • At this point, you will be put on the bus list for field trips

How do camp deposits work?

  • A $25 deposit can be paid for each week that you would like your child(s) to attend camp.
  • Paying a deposit is the only way to guarantee that your child(s) will have a reserved spot for camp.
  • Please keep in mind, camps do fill up each summer!
  • If the remainder of the balance is not paid by the due date, it will result in the forfeiture of the deposit and camp spot.
  • Deposits are non-refundable or transferable.

When is full payment due?

  • Remainder of the balance is due the Friday prior to the start of the camp week, or the camper will not be able to come the following week and will be taken off the field trip list.
  • Full summer payment and payment plans must be paid in full by June 28.

Is Y-Assist (Financial Assistance) available?

  • Yes!
  • All families will be notified with in 1 week of their qualification status
  • Families must turn in a completed camp registration packet along with a completed Y-Assist application.
  • Turning in only a Y-Assist application does not automatically reserve a camp spot. If you want to reserve a camp spot while your application is being processed, you must put down camp deposit(s).

What do kids do while at camp?

  • We have an action packed summer planned full of arts & crafts, sports, recreation, character development, swimming, and weekly field trips.
    • Campers swim 4-5  times a week
    • Each group has a weekly field trip planned. See field trip calendar for details. Bus transportation to and from locations is provided for certain trips.
    • All Meals are included- Breakfast, Lunch, and an afternoon snack.

Camp Staff?

  • Our staff have years of experience working with children and have 24 hours of training specific to working at our camps!
  • All staff are fingerprinted and background checked and receive child abuse prevention education and training in addition to the above training.
  • All staff are CPR and First Aid Certified
  • Most staff are college students studying to work with children in the fields of teaching, nursing, and counseling.
  • All staff are over the age of 18 with the exception of 1-2 high school staff that we hire as aides.

  • A unique schedule that includes developing the whole child and making sure that all children have the best summer ever through lots unique experiences and exposure to new ways to play and have fun. 
  • As a Nationally Recognized Organization we use resources from our National Headquarters to keep up with the best of the best to make camp the BEST. SUMMER. EVER.
  • We are an electronic free camp, leave those valuables at home. 
  • We offer both bused and walking field trips 
  • Our children swim almost every day if they choose to. 
  • Variety- we make sure to offer our campers options all day long
  • Values- We incorporate CARING, HONESTY, RESPECT, and RESPONSIBILITY into all we do. Ending each day with a character count bead ceremony and Camp Pride where children get to recognize their peers for demonstrating the values we share at camp. 
  • Our focus for our kids through out the week is to create opportunities for achievement, relationship building, and to make sure all kids feel like they belong to the
