Elena Edwards. Certifications/Licenses: Personal Trainer (Athletics & Fitness Association of America – AFAA); Group Fitness Instructor (AFAA & American Council on Exercise – ACE); CPR/AED/First Aid (American Red Cross); Tabata Bootcamp™ Trainer & Tabata GX™ Instructor (Tabata Bootcamp™); Zumba® Fitness Instructor (Zumba® Fitness, LLC), Barre Above® Instructor; Health Coach  (ACE – In Progress) Interests/Specializations: Women’s Fitness, Functional Fitness, Small Group Training, Health Coaching, Group Fitness & Personal Training Management  YMCA Group Fitness Classes: Barre Above®, Tabata GX™, Step Aerobics, Club Cycle, Kettlebell AMPD  Bio: I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Communications and began my eight-year career in human resources in 2008. I started in my fitness industry career as a Zumba® Fitness Instructor in 2009, and my journey has continually evolved since. I have created, implemented, and successfully led corporate wellness programs and their initiatives, in addition to working for various fitness facilities and creating my own independent opportunity to teach ongoing group fitness classes and offer small group training program sessions to our local community in Midtown Sacramento. I fully transitioned my career into the fitness industry through my current Health & Wellness Program Director role in February 2018. I am committed to and actively engaged in continuing to develop my knowledge, skill set, and experience to enhance my offerings to my clients and students, as well as support my team of Personal Trainers, Group Fitness Instructors, Health & Wellness Coaches, Nutrition Specialists, and Student Interns and our Health & Wellness programming at our Sacramento Central YMCA.

Certifications/Licenses: Bachelor’s Degree in Kinesiology (concentration in Adapted Physical Activity); Strength & Conditioning Specialist (National Strength and Conditioning Association – NSCA); CPR/AED/First Aid & Lifeguard (American Red Cross) Interests/Specializations: Lifetime Health & Fitness, Injury Prevention & Rehabilitation, Aquatics, Sports Conditioning, Fitness Training & Education  YMCA Group Fitness Classes: Head To Toe  Bio: My motto is, “Just Keep Moving”! Whether you move a little or a lot, find what you love to do and make it yours. My goal is to make exercise, health, and fitness accessible for all. Whether you’re new to working out or an experienced enthusiast, I want to help you meet your fitness goals, because every body moves, and every body deserves to move well.
