CPR & First Aid
CPR course covers adult, child and infant CPR and how and when to use an AED. You will learn the basic techniques for CPR and use of an Automated External Defibrillator (AED). You will also learn First Aid for choking. The course meets child care licensing requirements and California Teaching Credential requirements.
Now hosting Socially Distanced CPR First Aid AED Course! The YMCA is pleased to announce that we are hosting a Socially Distanced CPR and First Aid class, following the new guidelines put in place by the American Red Cross.
Upon completion of the online learning component, participants will proceed to their scheduled in-person instructor-led training where they will demonstrate their skills in order to successfully complete the course.
All participants will be spaced 6 feet apart and have their own sterilized CPR Manikin and First Aid supplies to demonstrate their skills.
Classes Available for September: Thursday Evenings from 6:00pm-7:30pm Saturday Mornings from 9:00am-10:30am and 11:00 am-12:30 pm
Blended learning takes about 2.5 hours to complete and must be completed before the in-person class starts.
Cost: $100 for Community; $90 for YMCA Members
All Cpr/First aid and Lifeguarding participants will be eligible for a partial refund (all but $15 processing fee) if the class canceled a week before the start of class (Start date indicated on receipt). There are NO REFUNDS if canceled the day before or the day class starts. The only exception is a refund for special situations including an injury, illness or a family related emergency where you are unable to complete the class. A refund for the class of the will be issued if the YMCA has to cancel due to low enrollment.
