Youth & Families
At the YMCA, we believe every child deserves the chance to learn, grow, and thrive. Our Youth & Family programs provide safe, supportive, and fun experiences that build confidence, friendships, and lifelong skills.
From early learning and before & after school care, to Summer at the Y day camps and Bear Valley Resident Camp, we’re here for kids year-round. Children and teens stay active through youth sports, aquatics programs, and teen leadership opportunities, while families can connect through special events and activities.
Every activity is designed to spark discovery and reinforce the Y’s values of caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility.

Summer at the Y
Summer at the YMCA is packed with fun for the whole family! From exciting camps and swim lessons to action-packed sports and more, there’s something for everyone. Kids will make new friends, build confidence, and create unforgettable memories in a safe and nurturing environment—all while learning the values of caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility.

Bear Valley Resident Camp
Bear Valley YMCA Camp has been a destination for adventure for more than 80 years. At Bear Valley, we believe that every child should have the opportunity to experience the wonders of the High Sierra in a safe and caring environment. Located near Emigrant Gap, Bear Valley provides kids with rewarding and life-changing experiences.

School Age Programs
The YMCA School Age program ensures that each child’s time is spent creatively and constructively, helping children grow physically and mentally while emphasizing personal development and YMCA core values of caring, honesty, respect & responsibility.

Early Learning Program
Early learning is the cornerstone of a bright future. At the YMCA's Early Learning Program, we provide a nurturing environment that inspires your child’s curiosity, imagination, and passion for learning. Our comprehensive curriculum takes a holistic approach, promoting opportunities for social, emotional, physical, and cognitive growth.

Youth Sports
The Y is a starting point for many youth to learn about becoming and staying active and developing healthy habits for a lifetime. And the benefits are far greater than just physical health. Through YMCA youth sports programs, kids gain self-confidence and build positive relationships while learning the value of teamwork and good sportsmanship.

Youth & Government
Since 1948, the YMCA’s Youth & Government (Y&G) program has provided an unmatched experiential learning opportunity for high school students. By modeling California’s legislature and courts, participants can build skills such as critical thinking, persuasive speech and writing, project management, and collaboration. Our program is rooted in the YMCA’s core values of Caring, Honesty, Respect, and Responsibility, and believes in the importance of servant leadership and media literacy to a healthy democracy.

Aquatics
For over 100 years, the Y has been America’s leader in swim instruction, teaching safety, confidence, and lifelong skills in the water. At the YMCA of Superior California, our aquatics programs go beyond technique—building character, confidence, and connections. From parent-child and private lessons to water exercise, lap swim, recreation swim, and lifeguard training, we offer programs for all ages and abilities led by dedicated, experienced staff.

Kids Club
Kids Club is a service for facility members that allow them to pursue their own health and well-being, knowing that their children are safe, secure, and cared for in a positive environment.
We offer Kids Club as a FREE service to our Y Members. (Children must be active on YMCA membership)
