Early Learning at the YMCA

At the YMCA, early learning is the cornerstone of a bright future. Our program provides a nurturing and engaging space where young minds thrive through play-based curriculum. We believe play is essential for early development; it builds critical thinking, enhances problem-solving skills, and encourages social collaboration naturally. Through hands-on play and discovery, children freely explore their world while developing essential cognitive, physical and emotional milestones.

Eligibility Criteria

Eligibility Criteria (must meet at least 1):

  • Child is receiving Child Protective Services or is identified as at-risk

  • Family Meets income qualifications or receives CalWORKs Cash-Aid

  • Family receives benefits from qualifying governmental programs

  • Child is experiencing homeless

Need for Services (must meet at least 1):

  • Active Child Protective Services involvement or at-risk of abuse, neglect, or exploitation

  • Parent/guardian is employed or self-employed, or actively seeking employment

  • Parent or guardian is enrolled in vocational training or educational program

  • Parent or guardian incapacitated

  • Family is experiencing homelessness
