At a Glance

Teams practice once a week on weeknights for an hour. Most games are played on Saturdays, but there may be a few weeknight games to accommodate holidays, school breaks and make-up games. Players are assigned to teams based on practice availability, requests, skill level and age in order to best balance teams.

Schedules

Spring soccer registration typically opens in January, and the season runs from March to May. Fall soccer registration typically opens in July, and the season runs from August to October.

Ages

We offer leagues for kids ages 3–14, all with age-appropriate instruction as well as adjusted field sizes, ball sizes and number of players on the field.

Pricing

Prices vary by age division, but start at $90 for YMCA facility members and $115 for youth soccer program members.

Program Levels and Requirements

Teams of all levels are coached by YMCA volunteers. Registration includes a jersey and socks. Shin guards are required for all age groups, and cleats are recommended for ages 9 and up.

Ages 3-4 Coed

This is an introduction to the sport that focuses on social skills, teamwork and fundamentals. This level will have six practices and games.

Ages 5-6 Coed

At this level, we nurture skill development, teamwork, positioning and fun. Teams play seven games throughout the season and use a size 3 ball.

Ages 7-8 Boys/7–8 Girls

Well-rounded instruction continues with an introduction to strategy added in. Teams play seven games and may travel to play other Ys in the area. A size 4 ball is used.

Ages 9-11 Boys/9-11 Girls

Players continue to build their social and athletic skills during a seven-game travel season that culminates in a tournament. A size 4 ball is used.

Ages 12-14 Boys/12-14 Girls

This level emphasizes skill development, strategy and positioning as well as camaraderie. Teams will travel to play other Ys during a seven-game season that culminates in a tournament. A size 5 ball is used.

Pilates is an exercise system to strengthen muscles, increase mobility, and improve overall health. Pilates can be performed on a mat and on specialized Pilates equipment.

Pilates focuses on engaging the mind and body together with attention to breath, proper form, and efficient movement patterns. Pilates strengthens the core, improves spinal mobility, increases coordination, improves balance, and decreases stress. Pilates focuses on learning to move better so the benefits are felt in everyday life.

Pilates exercises are low impact and appropriate and beneficial for all bodies. You will love the short and long-term health benefits.

  • Pilates Reformer group classes and private instruction sessions. These additional-fee options are available at our Rollingwood and Capital YMCA locations. See our Group Fitness Schedule.

Anybody and every body can take Mat Pilates. Mat Pilates group classes are included with your YMCA membership at no additional cost. Registration is encouraged but not required. No prerequisites are required to join a mat class.

Mat Pilates Class Formats:

  • Mat Pilates â€“ Our Mat Pilates classes offer a system of controlled exercises that engage the mind and condition the body. These classes are designed to accommodate and challenge both beginners and experienced participants, focusing on building strength, enhancing flexibility, and improving posture. Movements can be modified or intensified to suit all fitness levels, promoting long, lean muscle development without bulk and relieving stress. Mat classes involve standing, kneeling, sitting, and laying on the mat and may involve additional props (exercise bands, rings, balls, etc.). Modifications and progressions are offered.
  • Seated Pilates (currently called Chair Pilates) â€“ Our Seated Mat Pilates classes offer a workout based on the same Pilates principles in a safe seated environment. These classes offer a system of controlled exercises that engage the mind and condition the body. These classes are designed to accommodate and challenge both beginners and experienced participants, focusing on building strength, enhancing flexibility, and improving posture. Movements can be modified or intensified to suit various fitness levels, promoting long, lean muscle development without bulk and relieving stress.  Seated (Mat) Pilates classes offer exercises done in a seated position and may involve additional props (bands, rings, balls, etc). Modifications and progressions are offered.

Mat Pilates Class Levels:

  • Level 1 – Beginner Mat Pilates classes offer a full body workout with a focus on Pilates principles – breath, concentration, control, balance, and mobility. Although the choreography and pace of the exercises is simple, you will experience a full body workout in a safe and supportive environment, with a good dose of fun.
  • Level 2 – Intermediate Mat Pilates classes, build upon our Level 1 classes and offer a full body workout using Pilates principles and enhanced choreography and challenge options. Healthy individuals without mobility issues may progress to Level 2 at their own discretion after learning Pilates terms and concepts from Level 1.
  • Level 3 – Advanced Mat Pilates classes offer a full body workout using Pilates principles in a faster paced environment with extensive challenges offered. Level 3 participants are expected to require minimal or no modifications and have a solid understanding of, and extensive experience practicing, Pilates terms, exercises, and safety practices, requiring minimal explanation of basics and a focus on exploring challenging options and variations.
  • Mixed Level – Mixed Level Pilates (sometimes called All Levels) classes offer a full body workout using Pilates principles in a supportive environment with multiple progression options. All levels of Pilates practitioners are welcome to attend. Mixed level classes encourage growth in your Pilates practice and are open to all levels.

Tee-Ball and Baseball

Kids ages 3–8 balance fun with fundamentals as they learn to hit, catch and throw in a team-building environment.

Basketball

Our basketball program teaches kids the fundamentals while helping them make friends, stay active and learn sportsmanship.

Swim Team

You don't need to be an advanced swimmer to join the team! We teach kids of all abilities competitive swimming skills.
