CPR & FIRST AID CERTIFICATION

CPR course covers adult, child, and infant CPR and how and when to use an AED. You will learn the basic techniques for CPR and the use of an Automated External Defibrillator (AED). You will also learn First Aid for choking. The course meets child care licensing requirements and California Teaching Credential requirements.

First Aid course covers injury assessment, bleeding control, fractures, strains, sprains, burns, care for shock and other medical illnesses.

Participants will receive a two-year certification. These courses are American Health and Safety Institute Approved program. The course meets OSHA-approved standards. An electronic coursework manual is provided.

Please note, this is not a healthcare provider course.

*Classes will be modified according to Redcross guidelines to accommodate Social Distancing.

Refund Policy

All Cpr/First aid and Lifeguarding participants will be eligible for a partial refund (all but $15 processing fee) if the class is canceled a week before the start of class (Start date indicated on receipt). There are NO REFUNDS if canceled the day before or the day class starts. The only exception is a refund for special situations including an injury, illness, or a family-related emergency where you are unable to complete the class. A refund for the class will be issued if the YMCA has to cancel due to low enrollment.
